Alghero Sardinia Bars and Cafes

Generally, Alghero isn't noted for its wild nightlife and bars are in fairly short supply with most drinking taking place at the cafes dotted around the old town.

These will often have pavement seating and make an excellent place to participate in the favourite Sardinian pastime of people watching.

Café Latino Bastioni Magellano 10. Upmarket bar / café located on a corner of the walls with nice ambience and a good selection of cocktails. Large outside seating area has good views over the port.

Jamaica Inn Via Principe Umberto 57. This dark wood paneled bar is Alghero's nearest version to the English pub. There's some outside seating across the road and a simple menu available.

L'Arca Lungomare Dante 6. Just south of the old town on the seafront. This place has table football and weekend live music.

Baronda Piazza della Misericordia 14. Fashionable bar with a wide range of cocktails and good music. Snacks available.

Poco Loco Via Gramsci 9. Probably the best bet for live music in Alghero. A good all round venue as this bar also stages open mike nights, has a ten pin bowling alley and an internet café. This is all in addition to the cocktail bar and restaurant / pizzeria.

Diva Café Piazza Municipio 1. Trendy bar located just of Piazza Civica. Outside terrace and non-smoking in the main bar area.

Mill Pub Via Maiorca 37. Friendly Italian bar with live music.
